ADHD Assessment Services
Our ADHD assessments are conducted in two parts for a comprehensive evaluation.
-
Part 1 involves completing screening questionnaires that explore symptoms of ADHD and ways in which these may impact various areas of your life. You will discuss the questionnaire outcomes with a HCPC Registered Psychologist. Based on the discussion and screening assessments, a collaborative decision will be made regarding your progression to Part 2 (the full ADHD diagnostic appointment).

-
Part 2 consists of a full diagnostic interview with a focus on exploring your personal circumstances, your developmental history and completing diagnostic assessments. Diagnostic tools specifically designed for ADHD will be utilised across all assessment processes.

-
The combination of both parts ensures a thorough and accurate assessment of ADHD symptoms. Please note that if you do not require a full ADHD assessment, a discussion can be facilitated exploring other areas of need and any alternative recommendations.

Psychoeducation and ADHD Coaching
ADHD coaching is designed to support individuals with ADHD in managing their symptoms and improving various aspects of their lives. This will be tailored to your specific needs and aims to support you to navigate challenges related to ADHD effectively. ADHD coaching typically involves the following components:
-
Goal Setting: We would set specific and achievable goals.
-
Personalised Strategies: We work collaboratively to create personalised strategies and action plans to address your specific challenges. This will also include considerations of environmental modifications that may be feasible in your day-to-day life.
-
Self-awareness and Self-Advocacy: We would also aim to support you to develop greater self-awareness of your personal strengths and challenges related to ADHD.
Medication
According to clinical guidelines, it is recommended that people with ADHD consider medication if their ADHD symptoms are still causing significant impairments after environmental modifications have been implemented.
Please note that as we are a team of Psychologists, we do not prescribe medication for ADHD internally. However, we have a partnership in place with appropriate prescribing services for adults. We can discuss the services available and support you to access this service for prescribing and discussion of shared care arrangements.

It is advisable to ensure that your GP accepts assessments from private consultants, prior to starting this process privately, if you hope to access NHS treatment after diagnosis.
Talking Therapy
Talking therapies can be useful in treating ADHD; particularly if you are experiencing other difficulties such as trauma, anxiety, difficulties managing your emotions, difficulties in your relationships or substance use issues. Following your assessment, we can discuss your individual needs if you would like to access therapy.

We are trained in a range of evidence-based therapeutic models including:

-
Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT)
-
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
-
